Rolls Royce - 1914 Armoured Car

White_Wolf

Master at Arms
I had started this kit just days before I joined MA few months ago and I thought I'd post some pics.
It's a Roden kit, have seen better - don't mean to sound nasty but some bits really require some effort to fit into place.

I want this to be part of a little dio, the planning is still very much work in progress.

How is the parts fit? Kinda want to build one, but I'm lazy too.

Bit of a struggle to be honest - not so much the under carriage - that is ok (not perfect but ok), the messy bits are the body, behind the turret and the nose - had to do a lot of thinning, filling and still more to do.

The wheels are a strange contraption, you need to bend the PE bits, and then the whole wheel is a daisy chain of parts which could have been made to fit better.

I'll take some pics with the wheel making process.

Luiz - thanks for the compliments, appreciate it.

Love this subject too, but those PE wheels scared the living poo out of me !!

Ian

Gents, most kind compliments, thank you :notworthy

More progress on this one - first, the rear wheels - see the pic with all components below in order of assembly, then the chassis, then the upper hull, turret and bed at the rear. Obviously a lot more work needs doing.

Looking at the pics of the bodyshell, lots of opportunity for all kinds of weathering.

Ian

That's true Ian, lots of options there.

Progress pic - clearly showing the filling between the bonnet and chassis - nightmare and fitting the rear was equally :bang head . Never do this model ever again. :S
