Thank you, Luiz! Much more to come.

Roden Opel 3.6-47 DAK Omnibus Update 02-02-2020

The bus is starting to look like a vehicle, finally! The body comes in so many pieces, I wasn't sure how it was going to fit and really didn't want to put a ton of detail inside, so that's why I added the extra armor plating over the windows. Of course, I couldn't leave a big empty space inside, so I painted and installed the troop seats. :gogo

I figured the paint would wear off the step pretty quickly, so I rubbed some steel pigment on the tread and edges.

Of course, this will probably need to be redone once all the painting is done. :facepalm

The body comes in eight pieces, including three doors. I've got a photo, but damned if I can find it now. I started by gluing the rear to the floor and frame. Basically, I just glued, let it set up and went on to the next section. When I got around to the front, I squared up the panels and POOF!

Does it fit? Yes. Are there a few gaps? Yes. I figure to leave it alone until next weekend and attack the gaps prior to the base coat. That will give me time to decide where I head next.

Thanks for coming by!

Okay, found the photos of the body parts and seats.

As you can see, I painted the seats prior to weathering the undercarriage. The body was surprisingly not as difficult as I had thought. I would have preferred to build the body and then slip it over the chassis, but that would have had an entire set of other issues. Guess you'll have to come back to find out what happens next. :mpup

Thanks for coming by!

POOF! :ro: Magic! :yipee
A Man could go crazy with the miasma of a bus interior. Bread scraps, gum under the seat, empty Sternbuk's cups, old band-aids, dirty kleenex, overflowing chamber pots, spittoons.
Good thing you kept it simple!
:salute
A nice bit of model making!

Great JOB!! :good:

I say do a little weathering and throw some nik-naks around the door areas and it will look well lived in. The body seems to go together fairly well, looking forward to seeing it all painted up. :popcorn
