Roden Omnibus

I just picked this kit up, and before I start on it I was wondering if there was any info on the interior and what colour it should be, I'd like to do it as an ambulance, preferably eastern front.

If it was an ambulance I would guess a off white. Looking in Militarfahrzeuge of the Wehrmacht though the ambulances seem kind of dark inside. Also the Omnibus pictured looks darker inside from an external view than I think a white interior should. So maybe the same colour as outside?? Looking at other works it seems that people paint it a lighter colour. Here is a good build that while not your vehicle, might help with your build http://pinupminiaturesstudio.blogspot.ca/2011/10/steyr-1500-blody-ambulance.html
I dont have many books on soft skin German vehicles and this was all I could find.

James is right , anything medical and factory produced for the German service branches would be some kind of off white or ivory .

From my [ and Ralph Kramden's ] research , most buses used by the German services were pressed into service and used for just about everything .

Not that there were not buses made expressly for the service branches , however standardised colors for the factory made vehicles are very hard to find and verify .

Some interesting bus stuff , Opel , Mercedes , Ford , Hansa Lloyd Borgward , Vomag , Magirus etc.
Sorry for the volume of pics. ........... I was bored this morning .

Nope, but I have now, Thank you sir :D . I also picked up some of these CMK Wheels , and just in case any ones is wondering what you get essentially is 4 inside duals and no front tires :hmmm , don't ask me why. No matter the rear tires are ok and do look a bit better then the kit ones, how ever there are ejector pin marks? on the outside of the outer set :S

And Wow Cheyenne, Thank you.

I also came across this site which is got a lot of information, Blitz Bus , if anyone is interested.

This one here depicts what you get int the kit for an interior,

mainly the wooden seats, which, if I'm not mistaken, probably indicates a built for purpose bus, where as most of the other ones look like the may be commandeered units or picked up already built and pressed into service as is. With this one in the pic the interior looks to be a touch on the dark side so if it is the exterior colour, it may be dark yellow and not Panzer Grey. Opinions most welcome.
I may just wait and order up that etch set before I go to far on this one....

I am going to set this one aside for a bit and get the etch for it, Thanks for all the feed back guys, info filed for future reference.
