Revell Germany B-29 Superfortress Aircraft Platinum Edition

Can you believe this kit is going to cost $170???? I have notice that they are doing this with some of their old kits. Throw in some PE, odds and ends, call it a platinum kit and charge a pretty penny for it.

I know its the only 1/48th B-29 in play, but dang.

I wish they would spend a little money and fix that canopy that lets the whole kit down so badly.

Not only does it not fit well, in 1/48 it should have flat panes in some of the windows.

Concur! The Revell Ag kit IS the 1977 1/48 Monogram tooling if memory serves. $170.00 seems a might spendy, for new decals, masks and p/e parts, do it not? Is the shipping from Europe still astronomical as well? YIKE!!

At least they aren't reboxing Asian plastic adding a few bits and calling a "New tooling". Beware Das Werk for that reason alone.

Which kit would that be? Usually, they list Takom or whoever the mold owners are,.

Regards,

I just looked it up on scalemates. They don't even give you new figures? Yeah they can blow that $170 out the window.

Yup! New model kit prices are going to have to "Get Real" or my economic message will be utter silence!
This is NOT a "Seller's Market". Even on EVIL-Bay prices for this classic are INSANE!
My build space and display space would never support such a huge airplane model anyway.
