last week of summer, i doubt it though this could be a cool show, though watch traffic- that part of 85 has been under construction forever, last i saw that was a nasty area still!

There's back roads into Spartanburg.

The route to there is 77 to 221 past Roebuck, that should take you almost if not right straight there. I became famous and in trouble last place i worked learning all those highway bypasses and slip arounds. I hated getting stuck on the highway and we covered an insane territory doing water treatment service. One of the reasons I dropped out of the hobby. No time! it was nuts, glad im out of that! 10 years. First employee to make it that long and the oldest.

I can do a 6 hour drive one way easy, have done it many times. Seven hours if it is something I "REALLY" want to go to. Anything east of Knoxville is not going to happen for a 1 day event.

I know Paul, I drove 6 hours for a 2 hour network job in up in Cookville Tn. Local guy wasn't confident he could do it, granted it was a 6 switch stack with 8 access switches hanging off it but it's still just MAC addresses banging back and forth. I could have supported him over the phone.
6 hours up, 2 hour work then a steak supper. Next morning went by the plant to hee haw a bit then 6 hours back down the mountain. And I40 sucks!! it's two lane going through the mountains because Helena damage.
