NOOO!!!

I saw him fly that Yellow Rockwell Mustang Ole Yeller and his Aero Commander way back when, must have been mid 70s. Long story short but that was the show I got to fly rhs in the Aero Commander that a friend of my Dad had.

I do remember him shutting off the motors of that Aero Commander and freakin' loopin' it. He was the master of energy management.

I too saw him fly at the Miami Air Races back in the early 70"s. One of the greatest pilots ever to fly. He was also a friend and fellow test pilot with Chuck Yeager. Gary :salute

Reverence, Gentlemen. A Legend has Passed away

24 October 2016.
Robert. A. "Bob" Hoover took his trip up to Heaven. Bob's years were spent in varying Aircraft appropriately near that very Realm.
I met Bob when I was just little, at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was the second best airplane driver I've had the privilege to know. His passing followed a full life, that I will not begin to try to chronicle here. His bandy legged stance, razor-sharp wit, and the mischievious gleam in his eyes, spoke volumes of skill, character, and the joy that flying can be, to anyone who shook his hand. A Man who awed & inspired many airplane drivers, enthusiasts, and peers. He wasn't so much a pilot, as he was an integral part of whatever machine he took aloft.
