Pravda!

ausf

Master at Arms
My son convinced me we should set up our IR battle tanks as the Russian school from his favorite Anime series, so I made up a few decals and here we are, Pravda!

The insignia is a hammer and sickle formed with a slide rule, angles and a pair of scissors.

And our march song:

Does your Son model any?

I have two and they both were really into it before they saved enough for iPods and iPads, etc. They're 13 and 15 now, so it's not prime modeling age, I think I dropped off around 11-12, then picked up again in my mid 30s. They both handled airbrushes by 5, I thought they'd stick with it since they had access to so much bench gear I could have only dreamed of when I was a kid.

The youngest will occasionally rip through my stash if he's been punished and lost his device. He's also into collecting WWII militaria, so he'll model or play some Axis and Allies when the mood strikes. He's into the IR battling big time, but it's like a real life video game and usually beats the pants off of me. At least I can still outwit him in A&A. :hmmm

I was looking into those IR tanks ...... I did get some of the Airsoft bb shooters though ..... 1/16 scale ..... fixin to order one for the shop .... :eek:ldguy

These are 1/16 too.

Don't be discouraged by the quality of the Heng Long 1/16s. They are designed as toys, but can serve as a base for nice model with some time and upgrades. They are making full metal ones now that are getting pretty good in terms of quality, but are also getting close to Tamiya in terms of price, in which case I'd always choose Tamiya for quality and engineering in terms of RC model kits.

Some guys are hooked on metal, but it really is a hinderance on the battle field, pushing extra weight around and cutting into battery performance.

The JS-2 is Tamiya, the T-34 is a Trumpeter static kit but all the guttywuts are from a Tamiya Sherman so when it comes down to it, all the important stuff is Tamiya.
