Panzer III Ausf J

Okay okay. Actually been building. So here is the turret finished and primed with Valejo Panzer Grey Primer. Will let it dry and maybe tomorrow start doing the painting and weathering. Getting excited.

I'll tell you I'm really loving this Tamiya glue. Must get some other types to try soon. And the 2 part hooks for the turret are insane  But I got them on and I'm pretty happy.

Hi James
Looking good. Yeah that Tamiya is great stuff, it's my go to glue now. How are you liking the Vallejo primer? I'm hoping
to start spraying some for the first time soon.

Tom

I like it. Will paint it tomorrow with valejo German grey and beige and then try the AK stuff.

Okay last night I filled my paint cup 1/4 full with valejp German Grey, added 2 drops buff, then another quarter of distilled water, and mixed. Sprayed highlight areas then pulled out to about 30cm and gave an overall coat. I thnk I kind of got what some of the masters here do. Added decals this morning. I hate decaling over protrubances. This is what I have. Will let it dry and set and then will do a matt or satin clear coat before attempting weathering. Comments and or critiques welcome.

JAMES ,

That's good lookin stuff !! I like th highlights ... Spot-On !! Those Turret Numbers look Awesome !! Great Job !!

Thanks all. Numbers aren't as great as you think. Will have to do. I looked at the fenders again and I think I know the problem. Dragon instructions suck :vmad I glued them as directed and they through everything out of wack. Had a minor flickering of the light bulb over my head and I think I know how to fix it. Will see and show in a bit.

Okay found my problem. I thought I had assembled this incorrectly. Well I did in a way. There are 6 tabs on top of the chassis. They are cut straight and everything and I in my stupidity thought they where part of the kit. Even after it seeming wrong when I glued it together. Well 3rd time is a charm. They are sprue gates. Too bad they didnt look like one. I ended up snapping the right fender pulling this up again, but its all together now. And it fits with those gates removed. Whatg an idiot.

Okay here you are. Some minor things left on the chassis. Then I can paint. Turret is satin coated so tomorrow I can weather it. Tracks still have to be drilled out and built.

Comments and critiques welcome.
