Actually, remember that tank is a Panzer III which was not all that large. Here is a photo of a Panzer III J with the commander in the cupola and another figure in a great coat discussing a map.

He looks fine to me! As Paul said, Pzr 3's are a small, medium tank.

Comparison between a SoL knock off on the right, another knock off figure on the left and the Das Werk I'm using in the center. The SoL fake looks like Das Werk's 12 yr-ish old child while the guy on the left looks close in size to the Das Werk, but is still smaller. However the equipment, like the pistol holsters are all the same exact size.
I'm going to go ahead and paint up the Das Werk but not permanently attach him. I tried to modify him a bit to represent more of an SS Panzer member.

In my search last week for what the gun cleaning brush/bag looked like I messaged another well known modeller across the pond. He sent me these pics. A little late, as there's more to the bag than just a bag with rope, which is what I modeled. Anyway good for a future reference.
