Ok, enough fun... 8 in total.
Oh boy....thanks Sharkmouth!
For me, yeah as I have access to tiny screws, BUT why go through the effort of drilling holes and finding screws when it is easier to get some wire, mod the end of it, heat it a bit and brand the "screw" into the part.In this scale, can't you just use a real screw?
A dry fit showed that both sides of the hull have a significant concave warp. Not sure what to do at the moment.
Thats probably what's going to end up happeningIf you have no intention of showing the interior, have thick sheet styrene, and the ability to cut squarely, why not make a rectangle at the proper width and glue it in place?
Just pulled out my kit and looked at it. There are slots where the firewall goes. I would start with a piece of sprue measured and cut so that once placed between the sides they would be straight, then cut a piece of thick sheet to fit in the slots, and maybe have a reinforcement just behind it in the engine compartment to keep the firewall straight. Are there slots on each side where the firewall at the back of the crew compartment would be located? If so a solid piece of thick styrene set there would help a lot. Also, the upper hull could be tweaked a bit to help pull out the sides.
I am still surprised that no one has gone to any effort to create some accurate interiors for this kit and the Stug kits. If Das Werk were at the top of their game, they would make a secondary kit with all the interior bits.
I'm building the upper hull to see how it fits to the hull sides. It's not clear by looking at the instructions. I can add bulk heads though.Just pulled out my kit and looked at it. My chassis box "seems" to be straight but these larger parts can have or develop mild warpage over time.
