Panzer III Ausf J. Das Werks, 1/16 scale.

Ok, got the plate turned the right way. I also drilled out

and thinned the exhaust pipes more.

Btw I realized I had the curved horizontal piece attached upside down on the rear hull plate. Not being familiar with the Panzer III I'm going to have to pay attention! It doesn't help that most of the assembly instructions diagrams during this phase of construction show the tank inverted. The Takom Panzer I kit did this too. Is this a Das Werk and Takom thing? It's a bit irritating when they could just as easily drawn it the right way up.
Yeah thats a heat shield. I believe. Havent found any good pictures but there is this drawing from a Wynadecto <sp> book.

I can do bolt 🔩 castings 🫡 Thanks for the excellent pics!
Ok, why is the stamped panel on this real one angled the opposite way than how the kit instructions are showing... 🤔

That thought crossed my mind too. Sharkmouth may need to get a hold of that crew.
Looking closer at the pic of the real one the side shields are shorter as well. Which is why the stamped shield is at the angle it is.
