Panther 1/48th scale by Bandai

Painted several coats of my custom mix of dark yellow made from craft paint. The engine hatch needs a second coat, the road wheels are yet to be painted and the tank needs a little touching up. Gary S.

Final coat of dark yellow was brushed on including the road wheels. Also included is the Monogram kit built back in the 90's. It was my first tank model built as an adult. It's a Frankenstein D model. It had the older type of commander hatch that I scratch built the newer one. So it could be a rebuilt with G hatches and rear deck. The kit did come already with Simmered. molded on. I plan to duplicate the paint job onto the Bandai kit. Gary S.

The kit instructions said to place the six included rounds into the boxes under the turret. In my stash there was some extra round racks so I used them to in the hull sponsors visible thru the turret hatch. Three tips were painted white and three painted black to indicate from armor piercing or high explosive. Also the gun assembly and turret basket are attached to the turret.

Was the Panther interior really left in that red-brown primer? No off-white buff paint?

From what I understand, the earlier ones were a greenish gray on the lower surfaces and later were left in primmer color. Some were sent to the front in primmer allover or gray.
