I remember the ME109s in formation with the Hurricanes in BoB film that we were not supposed to notice :)

Oh it only gets worse from there Paddy, the movie Fighter Squadron with Robert Stack and scores of other hollywood tough men. P51D stood in for Luftwaffe aircraft. Still worth the watch to see war veteran P47s in color.

I remember going with my dad to the Tulsa Glue Dobbers flying field back in the 60's and watching the radio control and control line planes being flown. There were a few of us that got together in high school and flew control line planes in a grass lawn that was surrounded by 3 of the high school buildings. It was a perfect place to fly as the buildings blocked the wind and the grass and dirt were soft enough that crashes didn't totally destroy our planes. Today they would be so anal about possible damage that they would shut it down in a second. (effin lawyers)

The problem with RC is its almost impossible to get the speed to scale. If you move a real aircraft far enough away so its the size of a quite close model ......the real plane will appear to be travelling at a fraction of the speed at distance of the RC thats quite close. You could see this in the actual film with the Stukas which were going like the clappers :) You also see it with model train sets and slot car sets
