On 11th hour, of the 11th Day of the 11th month the guns fell silent after years of war, now celebrated as Remembrance Day, not to glorify war but to remember all those who gave their lives to end the Great War. To all who have served, are serving, will serve God Bless. Its important to remind people its not a holiday to party, its not a political statement, its not to be used to further ideology. Its to remember the sacrifices made.
Summed up in some videos that I have found to bring great meaning to the occaision.

I wish all veterans a fine, reverent Veterans day!
In our little town, the Hy-Vee Market Grill offers free breakfast buffet, served by senior staff, and beverage of choice. The store served 380 Honored Men & Women, and at the Victory Christian Academy, another 160 Vet's had their breakfast. My Sweetheart works there and I went along this morning to assist as I may before school.

I had a truly rewarding conversation with Roy, a USS Fulton, AS-11 sailor. My uncle Howard (Pete) Theodore Coll served as corpsman aboard the USS Sperry, AS-12. USS Fulton's sister. Roy commented "The chow here is pretty good!" He is right!

It turns out, Roy and I have a friend in common. Electrician's mate Bob Kirby of the USS Entemedor, SS-340. Now the suspended TLAR Models 1/700 US Navy GUPPY Submarine kit must go forward! I started it, originally, to make a model of Mr. Kirby's GUPPY IIb boat and present it to him.

I do miss watching ChukW's builds. His use of his little cartoonish characters to illustrate the process was always enjoyable. Too bad he moved to the Seattle area and went all angry.
