New Kid on the block

Hello everyone, I am the new kid on the block. After Iron Mike threatened to hold my stash hostage if I don't join, I decided to take a look. Ok, what is there to say about me? I got my first model, an Airfix 1/72 Bristol Beaufighter at the tender age of 7. It was at a time when Germany still had an Emperor. That got me started to build vast armies for the sandbox. Eventually the time came when other things were more interesting than throwing plastic and glue in a bag and shake it. I started to pick up modeling again about 5 years ago when I joined the IPMS Plastic Surgeons in Des Moines, Iowa. Even though I try my luck with an airplane, car or ship occasionally I really do love my modern armor, especially the modern German armor. I build in 1/35 and also in braille scale. I was 12 years in the Germ,an Air Force as a crew chief on a Transall C-160. But how does an Airhead like me end up with building armor? Well, I just have to say that tanks are sexy things. Anyway, I am looking forward to meet you all and learn from you all as well.

Glad to FINALLY get you over here! Now we just need Rob, Ross, Don, Greg and the gang to hop on! I'm working on getting some of my new club over here too. Leopard2 is too modest, he's a meticulous, accredited builder and a fun guy to know! Please join me in welcoming him here, he'll be a fine addition to our crew! (y) (y)

Just finished looking at your models. They look great and welcome to T-N-T. Are you going to be at Omaha in March?

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. Yes, at this point I plan on being in Omaha since it will be the dry run for the 2011 Nats. I also plan on going to the "I hope it doesn't snow" contest in Rochester, MN.

Great maybe I will see you there. I'll be one of the guys from West Central IPMS from Kansas City.

Hiya Leopard2:

Welcome to T&T :) . I just took a look at your braile scale stuff, and it is fantastic. Maybe you can give us all lessons early next year when we have the next Group build for the 1/72nd scale fans.

LOL. Then you need a better disguise. The accent gives you away. Everyone else who speaks German doesnt have an accent when speaking English.

Looks like Mike is heading up his on mafia here, we have the Malta Mafia, is this the Iowa Mafia forming up?
