My old eyes

I shared with you guys about my eyes being really hosed up and this past Friday I had strabismus surgery on my right eye. I cant see how little kids can get this surgery and bounce right back. This involves cutting some muscle tissue on the side of the eye so the eye is mostly straight.
It's sort of painful the first day out of surgery and after that it feels as if you have a welding arc burn. It has been two days now and it is feeling better but I still have a bit of a goopy feeling with some small headaches that I am sure will be gone in a couple of days.

I will no longer have to wear the 3/4 inch thick glasses and after I get a new script I should be good as new.
These small minimally invasive surgeries on geezers my age is hard to recover from. Not like I was in my 40's.

Now back to modeling tomorrow.

Good luck Paul! I know you're looking forward to better vision.

I don't think kids feel pain like we do, I think about all the times I fell out of trees, swings, rip lines and that time I ran the go-cart up the dogwood tree...no that one hurt. :rotf

Glad it seems like your vision is on the mend a bit. Yeah it does suck getting old. Been feeling it myself a bit here lately.
Something I started doing to help my vision a couple of years ago is I started taking this stuff:

It really has seemed to help. At 59 I do have some of the vision stuff that folks have at my age, but for the most part my vision seems to be better than when I was younger.

As you know I work on little $h!+ (watches) all day long. I use a loupe to see up close on the bitty parts and while it doesn't really bother me it is important that my vision be sharp, clear, and without weird stuff going on. about 3 years ago my right eye started getting some odd stuff going on. It has always been my bad eye so not a real biggie except once it starts there it can do so in both eyes.

Like I stated above a friend though he was starting to get some stuff going on and hit the supplements. I have been using the AREDS 2 for a couple of years and a lot of the weird defects that were going on in my right eye have gone away. The splotches around the edges are smaller and about 1/3 as noticeable as they used to be. In addition my vision has gotten sharper and more clear. In fact there are times I grab my 'puter glasses to drive and don't even notice the difference. In the morning anyway. In the evening things in the distance will be a touch fuzzy but actually about the same fuzzy as the regular glasses are in the morning. Through the day my eyes change a bit and that has been that way for a while.

I would suggest give these a try for a while. While not cheap, they really do seem to work and that is worth a lot for your vision.

Sorry to hear about this... Paul but sounds like your on the mend .... :zen for your eyes my friend ... I hope you get back to the bench soon ... :salute
