Re: MrT'S M48A3"JUNGLE BUSTER""STARTED"

So where you dropping it, in the suspension? Will that effect the track length?

Yes it's in the supension. Yep the track tension will need to be ajusted.

Yep the track tension will need to be ajusted.

If that doesn't work out due to the nature of vinyl, this may be plan B:

I gotta ask, why was it lower? They think they were going to get a higher top speed or something??

Looking great Terry! nice job on filling all those holes, old tamiya kits are a pain in that way....

Lower profile. Harder to see

As far as the model is concerned it was set up to be motorized and to be more of a toy. Nobody would want your tank hung up in the shag carpet.

No problem!! There are some differences between Marine and Army versions, but more on that later.

Re: MrT'S M48A3"JUNGLE BUSTER""UPDATE 1"

Erik you're just in time. Got an update. I have attached the torsion arms on one side and made a adjustable idler wheel to solve the problem of loose tracks after lowering the hull. Here are some pictures.

Terry B)

The .080 plastic strips are used to set the distance of the torsion arms and keep them aligned. Also I have added putty to bumper housings.

To make the adjustable idler wheel this part has to be cut apart.

I attached and torsion arm

Next I made an axle for idler housing and drilled a hole in the housing.

Then make a hole in the lower hull.

Insert the axle. Attach the idler housing and viola adjustable idlers

That's cool Terry! That linkage, you going to make that workable or static once you have the tension right?
