Mother of inventions

Master at Arms
I have no idea if these are good or bad guys but an interesting vehicle none the less.

Whatever works I guess. I wonder how they get the aiming done. Imagine the grouping is going to be very very loose also, so not sure what good this would be unless they are full of flechettes.

Yeah, but I'm not sure whether to be more scared of being in the cab or off in the distance ?

Ford did not offer you that option ? :S

Cheers, Christian B)

But wouldn't it be a VERY cool subject to model? I saw another picture of the same vehicle from another angle. So this isn't one of those photoshopped things. They seem to have it at an angle, maybe they have test fired already and gotten the range and drop of the rockets.

If you could find the truck in 1/35 you could use the rockets from a Trumpeter Hind.

Methinks the bracketry needs to be beefed up, might decide to head south when the north bound is lit up!! :idonno

What I think is neat about the picture is that you get to see the what the terrain looks like. The colors and vegetation.

Would it? Wouldn't be any recoil on the rockets firing, the back end is open so the gas jets out the back. There wouldn't be any back pressure. Not like mounting a GAU-8 on the back of a pickup....now there's an idea... :D

I agree with your statement Bob but I do wonder if the rocket blast Heat + air pressure would implode the windshield ? :blink

Christian

hehe...yeah, there would be a little scorch effect that would need to be modeled. Melted windshield...burnt paint. I think it's also obvious that this weapon hasn't been fired from this vehicle.

Looks like the Mythbuster's Rocket car.

When I first saw the pic of the truck with the thingie on it I thought of this ............

You can't put no Ruskin' hardware on an 'merican pickup truck! What's wrong with y'all! that Ford needs a SUU11 gun pod on a swivel mount, then we'll see how Ford Tough that thing is.

I don't know what could happen when that contraption is fired up...

What I do know, is that were I not tied to the interior of that truck, I'd NEVAH be around it for firng trials!!! :pinch:

Cheers! B)
