Pretty dark subject. When I first saw this I thought it was related to the story in the book "Spearhead" by Adam Makos.

I was about to say the same thing. This looks just like that incident in the book "Spearhead" It tells the story of the fight in front of the Cologne Cathedral where a civilian car waited too long to bug out and was machine gunned as it sped away.

Dark ? , well yeah , the invasion , occupation and later the fleeing back to Germany chased by the allies was a horrible reality .
