Meng have given you nice detail on the inside of the canopy so that has been masked too.

I have heard that there may be an issue with the fit of the glazing, however the little test fitting I have done so far hasn't shown any problems...yet. I will carry on with caution though. :)

Great start, Dave! Before you go too far with that canopy masking, check your outer masks. The inner frames should definitely not be painted on the outside of the canopy- that gave me fits in my build. Note that the hatches have only the outer frames on the outer sides, and the main glazing is quite elegant without all the interior roll cage stuff. Is that framing molded on the kit canopy? If so, sand it off!

Cheers!

Double mask on the canopy? If I may suggest Dave, first layer of paint should be black then do the interior and exterior colors. It'll give it a lot of depth.

:popcorn

Thanks Chuck and Bob for the heads up/ suggestions. I was going to compromise with the canopy frame as I don't want to do any sanding so I will paint the rlm66 then mask the outside of the horizontal frame that runs head height down the side. Perhaps not accurate but I'm lazy lol.
I will try the black first too Bob - it'll better work or I'll get my red coat on and come over there and burn some houses down (again) :D :tomato

I remember building the Pro-Modeller kit some years ago, not the easiest kit to bring together but a very 'substantial' and impressive model when it was done.

Looking forward to this build, matey.

Ian.

Sponge treatment?????????? Do tell !!! :hmmm

Also the build is looking good to Dave.....

Sorry for the hijack Dave but this shows the sponge treatment best, thanks Phil also.
