Oh wow is that awesome! I am in the middle of Jeff Shaara's new novel on the Pacific and I have a hankering to do a Marine Sherman and this would go along quite nicely with it!

Wanted to kind of update this a bit-- once I saw it I knew I needed it for a Pacific vignette...shied away from it since I had to order it direct from them and shipping was nearly as much as the piece itself. But then I got some birthday money and decided to splurge ;)

First off-- the box art changed a bit...and lookie lookie at who did the master ;)

I was a bit surprised when I opened it. I was expecting to see a kind of kit much like the Nissen Hut I ordered from them, but lo and behold--

Nothing really in the way of reference materials or painting guides...so I'll have to resort to online searches. I want to model this as a knocked-out pillbox with my USMC Sherman...but have not found much info on what these would look like taken out. I know they used flamethrowers a lot of the time...but would anything else have been used...bazookas, tank guns, naval guns, etc...any info one might have would be great. I need to modify this a little bit just to make it jump out a bit.

The change in artwork may be based on the scale. The one I posted was 1/48th scale.

Regards,

Nope--I haven't! Thanks Saul!

And this was supposed to be the 1/48 scale version-- but now that I look more carefully, it appears that they sent me the 1/35 version...

Yup...it ought to be great!!

They are sending the 1/48 one out Monday...I have to send the 1/35 version back, essentially paying shipping charges twice for their mistake which I am not crazy about considering shipping was $15 and the piece was $22...grrrrrr

Pay shipping for their mistake? Contact them again and clear this up. It is a cost of doing business, to absorb the price of mistakes, if they want to keep customers.

Regards,

I sent John Geigle a letter and copied you Mike. I want to see how your issue gets handled. If you ordered one item and were sent another, it shouldn't be on you to pay more to have the correct product. I suggested an alternative solution.

Regards,

Th situation is resolved! Please write a review of the 1/35th scale kit and it will be published.

Regards,

Will do Saúl...I will work one out similar to the one we worked on this past summer on my blog!

Thanks Bob...I've actually done one before here with the iPod iModelkit app ;)

I believe Saúl will be posting it here and TL once I've written it...probably like he's done with Hubert's great reviews...

Mike you're always welcome to submit your reviews here. Let me know if you're interested.

Bob, that was part of the deal, reviews on several places. Of course, Modelers' Alliance also gets the build on the 1/48th scale one for the Campaign.

Regards,

Yup! Wait...what campaign? ;)

I was thinking of having it in a little vignette with the Hobby Boss USMC Sherman I'm nearly finished ;)
