Malta 1940-43; Spitfire Mk.Vb (recast) Airfix 1/72

Hi,
This time I took a workshop on the latest editions of the famous Spitfire issued by Airfix in 1/72 scale.

Unfortunately, my sly plan to merge wings from Mk.IXc with fuselage from Mk.Ia failed due to a different division of technology of both models. Therefore there left only to try to perform a minimum of modifications by own.

Based on the Airfix Spitfire Mk.Ia model in 1/72 scale I will try to do Mk.Vb Trop. I know that my modifications give me only a similar view to the correct appearance ...

So what are these issues you're trying to get around?

The main problem is panel lines on wings and cannons.

Building, indeed slow, but going forward

I extended Vokes filter - although I'm not a retailer the initial length (which was a little too short) were irritated me too much. :hmmm

Small update - Spit received the first portion of acrylics Agama on the top and bottom o) :woohoo:

Photos may not be top-flight, but for the three images I did not have inspiration to break down whole workshop.

the Spit is coming along nicely. Did all that interior detail come with the kit ? I have never seen anything from Airfix with any interior detail before.

Thanks for the info Hubert. Perhaps there is some hope for Airfix now that they are upgrading their molds. After all they produced a lot of subjects that no one else has ever bothered to reproduce. It would be nice for them to continue to improve their line of aircraft.

All new (not "refresh) models made by Airfix have new, mutch better quality. MiG-15, F-86 and Bf-110 are very well.

Cool, I have been thinking of building another Spitfire recently . Although I have some other marks in my stash I don't have a MK Ia. This might well be the answer then. :drinks

In this case you should buy as minimum two Then you can made one as Mk.I and second as Mk.Ia
