Magnet wire/ Lead wire container

I got a few rolls of various fine magnet wire which is used to wind motors or generators etc and some lead fishing wire for adding details. Then I figured I should have some way of storing it and dispersing it. Nothing complicated, actually quite simple. And here we are.

I think I need to get some thicker gauge wire though. AWG 44 is the finest I have. Printed in ABS in my Bambu Labs X1C, took about 2 hours. The top is press fit on. May not look like much but I like it.

I guess I need another one now as I ordered some 20, 24, 26 and 30 AWG. I think I've got enough sizes to do any kind of wiring whether single wire or cable bundle and I should maybe be able to make chains too. Anyways I am quite pleased with it. Half an hour on Tinkercad and just a little over 2 hours per print.

Good idea James. I might scratch something up with the scraps of aluminum, brass, and acrylic I have around for the small wire rolls I have.

Okay I am going to give this a try on CULTS3D and see what happens. The next project I have done is a modular frame so one can make a base for a vignette or diorama. It links together to make almost any size you wish, rather than trying to find a picture frame to fit. It also has a narrow ledge on the inside bottom to put a piece of plywood or cardboard for added rigidity. Once I print some parts out to make sure it is what I want I'll show here and probably put on Cults3d as well.

Now what's the fun in that when you can spend the next two days searching the hobby room for the spool of wire you know was on the bench 5 minutes ago.😁

Cheers,

Especially when it rolled under part of the desk without any lighting available.!

Its no longer fun searching for the item right in front of you or playing hide and seek. Of course when these get put in my work shop whats the betting I wont be able to find them lol.
