M109 question

OK so trying to figure this one out

On the M109 Doher kit there’s this neat little mantlet cover. But the kit part is made for the barrel being presented at a lower angle. When raised this canvas (?) bit would be folded/wrinkled, right? Can’t seem to find pics of it online…please help!

I wish I could help. None of the images I found had that cover. You could probably use Tamiya tape to make a flexible version and position it as you like.
 
The Weather Cover works like a window roller blind. It rolls up and down with gun elevation and depression.
