My two cents would be a dark wash and then a light pin wash. Pop the detail and then start working on a dusty appearance. Saying that though I am still learning this washing stuff so take it with a grain of salt.

I think the right answer is... It Depends, There are various soil types in Israel from pictures I've seen.

I would do a initial wash of burnt umber and after that dries, do another wash of light earth to soften it up. Dust and dirt are different in color pending on where you are.

Graff Germany had the darkest grey/black muddy muck I ever saw, but when it was dry, that grey muck turned into the lightest grey.

Thanks for the tips James and Chris. In a few days,I will be adding the wash. I like to let the semi gloss coat, which I will spray that tomorrow, set up for a few days. :pilot

I may get to a hobby shop today near Marietta ,GA today. I may get some artist acrylic paints for the wash.

You talking about that Hobby Town up at Kennasaw?

Chad if you ever in Augusta let me know. There's a well over stocked HT there that we road trip to often, not often enough though.

Shalom.

I see that this is now an M-1. I assume it's IDF.

What era andlocale you want it to be will determine te colour you use. Whereabouts do you want this tank to be?

Cheers from Peter

Sweet Bippy? doesn't everyone say that?

That's a good store, lots of tools and stuff and good selection of paints. Need to be in a club or two to get good pricing but i guess that's the case in any of the LHS.
