Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

The airscale decals are nice but i wish they would increase the resolution, the problem is they sell some of them as specific US/RAF/German decals but TBH they all look the same because of lack of detail.

I just got Quinta'snew sets for German, British and American aircraft. They come with the Bezels.

The US instruments are still on the way, and will be used for my XF5U.

They look nice and sharp , maybe they will do the placards and engine plates eventually

I did mention that they're illegible and I agree that for the specific engine plates, I would certainly get them if they improved on that in both 32nd (Continental engines in the M3 Lee/Grant as an example) and 1/48th. Even in 72nd, I would get them.

As for Quinta, they do look good for the bezel inserts as the rounded edges are fine there but they look like cake frosting, or expanded foam, when they should have be smooth with sharp edges. These, for the 32nd scale AH-1G show what I mean...

Compared to the pre-painted PE from MicroDesigns, I will go with the latter each time since it also allows the use of switches (instead of pimples) through the holes once sees.

Now, comparing all my options, with the Metallic Details offering omitted (as I forgot)... There are items I will use from Quinta but will mostly use the others...

The separate dials from Quinta look very good but the complete panels are poor, i bought them for my FW190 build and i didnt use them they were that bad . 3D Print doesnt seem to work well enough to make it an up grade from std Decals, in fact its often a downgrade, especially if you want things Mat black.

Awesome scores guys!

I've managed to pick up a few things at very little cost due to the generosity of friends and being at the right place at the right time.

First off, I have needed more glue, so I purchased these to refill my tool box:

Then a few weekend ago, I went to a gaming convention (yes, I do wargame occasionally) and was able to purchase this. The box says $2.50, but he took $2.00 for it:

Then, talk about being in the right place at the right time, I came across a table at this convention that said "Everything on the table: $1.00" So I purchased the cloth bag and four other large containers for a buck each. While I was paying, they changed the sign to say "Everything on the table: FREE!" so after confirming that, I scooped up all the rest of the containers on the table:

God is good!

Later I went to build models at the Brookhurst club where I met a friend of mine there. He generously purchased these two kits for me:

The Airfix set was in the sale pile of previously owned kits. I was thrilled to get it as I'd wanted it for decades, since I was a little boy.

That's all I have for now. Back to the bench....

Thanks to Hubert, @dewertus, I got an early Christmas box, early enough for my birthday (I hope to return the favor soon, several years late), so I will start off with the books!

LOTS to read on my long 2 hour commutes each way during the workweek! Polish language so I can keep my proficiency for my retirement!

This is a re-release and the color profiles have been updated.

The kits...

Arma Hobby's re-release has some flash but is still an awesome kit! Click to see inside the box:

KP is NOT the ex-Gavia kit as re-boxed by Eduard! It is new and nicely done on the sprues but, as I saw with their SF260, a bit difficult to build! No interior other than the bare minimum in the cockpit and the weakest part are the instructions. Hubert. @dewertus, knows that I love ambulances so this one was of interest and seeing the decals on the vertical fin made me think of something (Tadum....Tadum.... tadum-tadum-tadum):
