Looks like a well detailed kit and an old one as it has raised panel lines. The cockpit has a lot of levers that must have kept the pilot busy. Gary S.

So far this is a joy to build. Near perfect fit. I used a silver sharpie as a metal under coat as areas for chipped paint later. Didn't get pics of the finished cockpit before installing into the fuselage. The instrument decal looks great. Gary S.

It is a very nice kit. Sometimes I think they simply added no details other than scribed panel lines for their 32nd scale offerings. Which scheme are you going for?

I finally got around to painting and decaling. As stated in an article in Aviation if Japan, I chose to paint the Ki-84 in a brownish olive #7 on the upper surfaces and on the lower surfaces IJA gray/green. The paint chipping was done with a silver under coat, the a few coats of future. Then using my home-made mixture of white glue, liquid soap and a drop of food coloring, I dapped on the mixture with a toothpick and then applied salt.

This is a comparison with an OD P-40. For my mix I used 2/3nds Testors OD mixed with 1/3 Testors flat brown. Sort of a PC10 color for WW1 British aircraft. Now for the rest of the pics. Weathering is next. My only question is what color for the inside of the engine cowling. In guessing
aluminum. Thanks for looking, Gary S.

Tanks on, flaps down and gear down and locked. The dark wash and drybrush with white oils done. Added some exhaust stains also. So far so good. Also, I then used chalk pastels for more exhaust staining. Gary S.
