Not sure why it's looks like bad photoshop, if you're talking about the first one, that's a B47 doing a JATO (Jet Assisted Take Off).

The BUFF was the only aircraft I have ever heard of that had pre-prints red (unserviceable) tags ready to go when it landed... no need to examine the old beast, just sign and date.

But what a grande old lady she is!
