A friend gave me this about a month ago and I just started last week.

See? it sat in his garage for 8 years! The kit inside is fine. ironically i removed the shrink wrap, but besides the box damage, everything seems ok.

This is my first Italeri kit, and maybe my last if they all use plastic this soft. I wanted to drop the flaps but the thin and flimsy condition of the styrene brings me to pause. I'll pop the airbrakes and maybe drop the tail hook, but this will be built OOB.

Body detail is nice- but right now I'm calling her Sandy because thats whats happening to every seam on the main fusc. She's curing now, I'll start posting picks after the first smooth. :)

Let's see if I can't give you guys an idea of what I have in mind...Last week i was watching a program on orca's and it kinda stuck, lol...

The leading edge on the Port wing is MM Acrylic Aluminum coated once with Alclad Dark Aluminum- rear will be done the same, if i get brave i have a nice idea for the 'face' and the tail, but this will be hand painted, so it will take awhile. I may NOT use any decals for identification ect but finishing is really a bit away.

Orcas are almost as cool as Sharks! They do have a better High Visibility scheme though...

:D
