Being a bit a bit deaf i always have the sub titles on my TV but more and more these days as AI takes over the results can be more Funny than useful.

This is a screen shot from my TV while watching a program about the battle of the Somme WWI

The next Gen is considerably more advanced and the gen after that you may as well refer to it as Skynet

I listen to a lot of stories off of Utube while I work. It keeps my mind calm and focused on what I do when it mostly is do it again Sam for the 5000 time. It becomes quite obvious that it is A.I. reading it when words are mis-said like wound and wound. One is an open gash, the other is wrapped around something. The A.I. doesn't know the difference from context. Live and live are another as in a-live or live-ing space. Again context says what it should be but A.I. is stupid and can't tell the difference. The text following along is worse than the CC you are all talking about. For the most part though I only notice that once in a while if I look down at the screen to see how much longer the story is going to run.

I'm sure it has it's uses...but I can't see it in my daily life. Just makes everything more of a hassle every time I run across it.....generally from inaccuracies and fallacies that are being propagated as true. And 95% of the people on the net can't be bothered to verify what they see on the web..."so it must be true." :bash:

Hell, the damn autocorrect on my phone pisses me off. It changes words that I want more times than it actually corrects spelling errors. Not that I'm a great speller mind you. Just highlight it if it's suspect...and let me change it if I want. I should probably check the phone settings and see if that can be adjusted. It's just easier to bitch about it.

I have the phone and my computer where they highlight the misspelled word. I can then go in and change it. Usually I know it isn't the correct spelling and let the device let me know and give me some options. Occasionally the computer says a word is incorrect and in fact it is correct or it just doesn't recognize it. In that case I add it to the dictionary.
I never let the phone autocorrect that is a great way to screw things up.

I am not a fan. Bitcoin or AI either one. I don't sell virtual inventory, I am not interested in virtual money. My bills and groceries actually exist in real time. Not only do we have to wonder if a woman is a man or not these days, but now pictures cannot be trusted to be authentic.

I don't know Paddy, I think Peter Jackson's "They Shall Never Grow Old" was very good. Upscaling and colorizing WW1 trenches adds another layer of what these men went through.
