Iron Mike
Master At Arms And Resident Curmudgeon
After several months of being cooped up after my eye surgeries, we finally headed back out on the road again to Atlanta, GA. Chris and I met up with Bob about halfway and we all rode together to the show. The weather was mostly cooperative, with scattered showers and cooler temperatures. The show venue was large, the lighting was so so, but the vendor turnout was outstanding!
After several hours of browsing and haggling, so good deals were made and we set off to the show tables. The categories were well balanced with entries and there were a lot of fine builds. Here we go...
This was SO tiny!
Then these were BIG!
Danger, danger! Warning, warning!
More pirate photos from the other side of the table.
I am the eggplane..
Race cars, the GT-40 was SMOKIN'!
I think I got pulled away at this point and got my order jumbled.
Large scale Tigers, always fun.
This was a nice looking Panther, but the flash was not kind in the second photo.
Yet another reason to post photos on the forums so you can check the flat coat coverage.
Interesting base.
Spread out!
Here's more of that afore mentioned GT-40, check the details.
After seeing all that was to be seen, we decided it was time for lunch. We saddled up and made our way to The Cuban Diner in Marietta, what a great lunch! Excellent and friendly service and the food! Ropa Vieja for me and Chris, Bob ordered a Pan Con Bistec (steak sandwich) all of which was fantastic! http://mariettacubandiner.com/menu.html Check them out!
After lunch, we went to find The General in Big Shanty, GA.
What a cool piece of Americana this is! The museum was informative and the engine is well preserved.
Photos don't do this justice, but I have to tell you, it was awesome to see something from the Civil War up close and personal.
Bob and Chris checking out The General.
When we went back to the car, we found this immaculate Packard parked next to us. That's when cars had STYLE!
We headed back home tired, had a great time! For MA News, Iron Mike reporting.
