Master at Arms
Here's a little something I picked up one morning when my crew was loading up to head for the
flight line in Viet Nam.

Just below my index finger is where I scratched these words.
24 March 1969
0245 hrs
107mm rocket

When stuff like this is flying around you're not thinking of being a HERO
We were loading up in a crew pick-up when they shot three of these at us. Two hit to the our left side and
one on the right. How we were not hit is beyond me. :idonno A piece like this can cut you into :eek:hmy:

This piece came from the body casing below the war head.
Uncle Tony :eek:ldguy 1961-1969

I was always surprised to see into what small pieces an 155 shell can tear itself Or scarier for me was seeing what a few MRL rockets did to an area Even a small ball bearing from one of them could tear an African Thorn trea apart and set the field alight and those treas are tough.

Met a few guys that was in the Bush war in 70's when the Katushkas came raining down and they always said what a terrible scary weapon it was.

I know i've got a bunch of war head shrapnel(rocket & mortar) around here somewhere.
We were the most hit base in country for the first six months of 1969. :eek:hmy:

Exploding projectiles and mini guns on C-119s make for a hell of a light show. :nothingtoad
