Image site used?

Hey y’all! So after being gone far too long I’m trying to again post, but could sure use some help!

Imgur won’t let me upload?!? I’ve used this for a long time so not sure, I even removed/reinstalled the app!

DOES ANYONE have a free image site they can recommend?

If the images are on your PC, or phone, and not too large, you can click on Attach Files and upload from your PC or phone.

I just resize the images to no larger than 1280 x 960 and they work perfectly. Larger resolutions will not show any different as they can only be so big in the display. The optimal size is between 1024 x 768 and the 1280 res so that seems to work the best. If on any kind of PC, open the folder where the photos are in one window and open MA in another window. Do your text, and drag the photo from your PC to the MA window. Once you do it a couple of times and figure out how it works it becomes quite easy.

Ok posting this question again. Bob & Eric are surely rolling their eyes.
So where is the folder as mentioned above?
Does it resize?
I REALLY wanna post and participate!

The folder on YOUR phone, computer, or whatever device that the photos are stored on. I never post photos directly from my phone and have a big system where my photos are stored on my computer.

Yep, I just upload to my posts directly from my PC storage. I have a folder within the project folder called 'WEB' where I resize the pics to web freindly sizes 300 -600 kb

Its an odd way of doing things but i use Flickr if i post on other sites which will give you a choice of picture size and a link code you can post on here like this.

If you click the picture it will; take you to flickr

The thing is this website has its own picture storage so you dont really need flickr but you will need to re size your pictures. If you are on a PC with windows just right click the pic on your PC and select open with ...paint where you can resize to about 900 pixel width. Then you can up load direct by clicking attach file from the posting page on here

As a foot note, please dont use imgur as we in the UK and soon Europe can no longer see pictures posted there. I sometimes post on "the modellers social club" and i can no longer see 75% of the pictures there. Yes you can use a VPN but its a pain to keep switching it on and off as half the sites will work with it and half wont.

I just gave our webmaster the go ahead to install an addon that will allow uploads direct from phones. So hang on fellas.

Yep, James told me his iPhone. Tinfoil hat thinking tells me "they" do this to eat up more clowd space so you have to purchase more storage from them. Do we really need 50 MG images of mostly junk?

In my experience the major problem with phone pictures other than for selfies is the lens.
People like me dont spend £1k on a lens for the camera and think a £20 plastic phone lens 5mm wide is going to to cut it :)
To get round this problem the phones use a huge amount of processing power to enhance what is basically an awful picture.
A mate of mine showed me his new iPhone a while back and the brilliant picture he took of a flower.....What i could see was a massively enhanced ultra vivid, ultra sharpened almost cartoon like picture of a flower that was a million miles from real life ...but he was happy :) Your phone pic is pretty much automatically photo shopped to death before you even get to see it and this is where the camera parts need to use huge amounts of memory..

like all these things once you make them all things to all men they usually end up crap. I would rather have a superb phone than a barely passable phone, barely passable camera, barely passable internet browser and barely passable computer.....all in one.

There are times when the phone pics work better. I used my phone when I went to the Airforce Museum at Wright Patterson earlier this year. With the odd lighting and all the other issues, it worked better and faster than my Nikon would have.

I think we are being forced into new tech not because its better, its just easier ...but they sell it on being better.
Over here the phone phone system across the country is being converted to fibre optic. its nowhere near as good as the old copper lines but they need fibre to satisfy the huge demand for new lines. Doesn't make it better and its not. They will sell you a 1000 mb TV connection but actually 6mb would do the job fine ...a new iPhone 17 costs £1000 but in tests its no better than a refurbed Galaxy S10 for £100. Dont get me started on DAB :) I can see the transmitter on a hill about 7 miles away from upstairs....and it works great. But doesnt work at all downstairs as no signal.

Bob i used to know a chap that spent hours editing the pictures of his models to make them -perfect....................i never did understand why ? I think if there is any value in my build threads its because i show what's gone wrong, not so much, what's gone right

I am but a poor boy... I have a phone and transfer pics to my 'puter. The transfer always asks me what size I want to send and I choose the "small." I had a pretty good camera, but gifted it to the grand-daughter for her digital photog class in HS. Of course, as often as I I post a pic I could probably engrave it on a rock an send it to MP via USPS.
