Regards,

It looks like a US 4.7 inch Field Gun, model 1906 http://www.indianamilitarymuseum.org/apps/photos/photo/next?photoid=14963532

More pics here: http://svsm.org/gallery/120mm_model1906

Looks like Phil got it, that cannon looks oddly familiar also. I think there is one around here somewhere.

Thanks Phil!

Luckily, my photos complement those in the link! Other than the horrible silver paint, it has concrete in the muzzle.

I took the photos as I was going home from a model train show (shhhhh, don't tell anyone).

I plan to visit the piece, plus a few others around Rockland County as the weather warms up.

Regards,

It certainly is! Worst is that I think the townspeople are spying on me as they repaint it each time I write my copyright on the barrel (for the photos, easier than adding them with PhotoShop since I don't own it).
:silly:

Regards,

LOL Saul,

You tagged the cannon (or at least the pic). :woohoo:

I did notice what I thought was something stencilled on the barrel, but didn't think much of it. Then after your post above, I looked a little harder and saw it was your name.  :silly:
