Hello everyone, i'm currently building a PTO sherman using the academy PTO sherman :eek:hmy:

today i planed on building the lower hull...but as fate would have it i'v got a problem :pinch:

did the lower hull machine gun move up,down, left and right or just up and down?? i want the machine gun pointing to the right, but i want to know if this was possible.

Many thanks for your help.

Nick

Hi Nick,

First I had to edit your title as you did not state why you needed help. Luckily I know enough about Shermans to answer you. The Assistant Driver was provided with a flexible mount for a 30 Cal MG on the right bow of the hull which did have traversing (left/right) capability. The TM I have does not specify the arc capabilities though.

Keep in mind the interior of the vehicle and the loading of the weapon as these would limit actual usage even if the mount allows the traverse angle.

Regards,

Thank your for the edit  brilliant i best get back to the bench and sort of my sherman :silly: i'll get some pics up later tonight

Look forward to your photos Nick!
I often place my bow .30cal at an angle; gives it the feel of the BOG being in place "hands on" if you know what I mean.
