so far so good but the wings went on perfecty and I do not forsee any problems now. Just to figure out how the paint will go on. cheers

Hi Paul,
you have me a bit confused. Are you building the Typhoon IA or the earlier car door version ? You have both pictures posted...

At any rate, Good start.

Cheers, Christian B)

Christian, the one pict in the sig line is from Wings palette and indicates it is a car door Mk 1B night fighter while the kit is definately a car door night fighter. If I am wrong please point out the differences to me and Ill be happy to relent.

HA...! That just caused me to do some reading...

First of all, I was wrong. The framed car door is hard to see in your first picture. I mistook it for what I refer to as the bubble top, while the second picture is obviously a car door model.

I think it is interesting that so many modification were done by Hawker to this airplane and it remained the IB.
I wrongly though that the car door was the IA while the bubble top was the IB but the literature only refer to them as early and late.

I did find however find a comment that was worthy of notice. That was that it was not unusual for the car door to come open in flight. Therefore the left hand door was sealed . This also explains why I never saw a picture of left door opened.

Thanks Pauls . Cheers, Christian B)

Ok Christian you are to be flogged at sunrise so meet the Cap'n at the Fore truck. I did happen to find a link(which I lost) where the car door is opened on the left side and this model allows one to do such. My pit detail sucked so much I am choosing to leave it colsed. I guess I like this model and the P-47 because I like the gear doors. I know it sounds funny but it sort of reminds me of a Clydesdale with the frathers over the hooves. Hey its my interpretation.

I found the night fighter re3ndition so compelling because of the contrast of the colors and the sharp lines. My biggest challenge is to make the trasmitting pods but the receiving antennae are not so dificult.

Just remember that you are a modeler and never wrong, slightly out of scle but never wrong. Paul

Hey Paul, I too like the early P-47's and early MK IB's...they just have that rugged look that makes John Deere appealing.
I can't be wrong when I model as there are too many possibilities that were never documented. However I like to keep my real airplane facts correct lest I become an IPMS. judge... :pilot

;) last night I went just a bit farther with the Tiffy.wings,LG,tail feathers and preshade. I am quite anxious as to see how this bird comes out.

Is is gonna be fun hehehehehe

I finally got some time to squirt some color on the Tiffy tonight. A good coat of shost gray. Ill let it cure for a day or so because I dont want any lifting on this plane.
I am free handing the canopy and door later and packing the pit real good. I have been through a lot today as my youngest daughter went into the hospital for a ruptured appendix.
Well I wont really have time tomorrow as I am baby sitting again. More soon

:gogo Well after a couple of days trying to get the paint to match color I applied the firsts coats. Afterthey dried I saw a great resemblence in the Tiffy and a Jearsey cow.
So I painted over it all and let it cure for a bit and rearranged my stencils and blue tape to be more consistance with
the color palette I have posted.
