I thought this might be of interest to some of you.
I live just down the street from the Canadian Lancaster which has just completed its UK Tour. As some of you know, it had to have one of its Packard built Merlins swapped for a BBMF Rolls Royce early on.
Long story short, the Museum, which is generally strapped for cash now has to foot a bill of $180,000 for repairs to that engine. The Lancaster is a major source of income for the museum and probably the major reason that the museum's doors are still open.
It's a privilege I have to see VeRA fly over my house regularly all summer, along with the rest of the museums planes which are mostly in flying condition.
I thought I'd post this here in hopes that some of you like minded people would consider donating to the Museum's Lancaster fund.
