GOOGLE MEET FOR MODELER'S ALLIANCE? Who is in?

Wife informed me that tomorrow a store chain is running a promotion for their credit card holders and I have been her lucky charm! Usually, I end up garnering $50 of gift cards so, I don't think I will make it home on time to meet up.

Oh the joys of having a "War Dept".
I had a choice to drive way over to east Tennessee overnight to go to a VW event and swap meet. Decided I didn't want to do a 9 hour drive over and another back tomorrow night.

Just when you figured out scheduled meetings, the new time zone configuration for Canada and US as of 01 Nov. At least until the Spring.

BC is staying permanently on Pacific Daylight Time (Mountain Standard Time). There were two regions in BC that used Mountain Time. The area in the northeast around Dawson Creek will continue Mountain Time aligning with most of BC. The East Kootenay area in the south east will remain aligned with Alberta and switch to Alberta Time. There are businesses in BC may need to remain open an hour later because they support businesses on the US west coast.

Alberta decided to remain on Mountain Daylight Time permanently (Central Standard Time) and is being called Alberta Time (ABT) by the provincial government. If it doesn't work out as well as thought Alberta could go back to Mountain Standard Time. Four years ago in a referendum voters choose to remain on Standard Time if the province decided to set a permanent time.

Saskatchewan stopped using Daylight Time in 1966 and remains on Central Standard Time year round.

Manitoba is staying on Central Daylight Time (Eastern Standard Time). A small portion of Ontario has always been on Central Time and changed back to Central Standard Time.

Ontario and Quebec continue the Standard/Daylight time switch with both considering changing to a permanent time but haven't chosen which side of the fence to be on.

The Maritime provinces and Newfoundland are watching from the sidelines to see how badly things get screwed up.

Cheers,
RichB
