GI Combat The Haunted Tank

Well, skin that smokewagon and go to work. I would like to see you build that later version. :coolio

My .30 calibers arrived from Lucky Model this week, now if I could just scare up some bench time...

:drinks

Found a little bench time today, thought I'd post what went on. The brass machine gun barrels from RB are top notch and go together with little issue.

The one on the left is assembled, the barrel and shroud are separate pieces. I ran a drill bit through the shroud to allow the barrel to slide in place.

I added the kit stars to the turret and used a dab of Dr Mike's Glue to bond the tracks prior to installation.

Barrels in place temporarily.

I cut the barrel off the kit part and drilled a hole for the new barrel. A little Dr Mike's and good to go.

The upper hull is still not attached permanently until I weather a little further, but the brass really adds over the kit parts.

Stay tuned, if you dare!

Saw where Dr. Mike's account was pending the other day, I went ahead and approved it. Looks good Mike.

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ISSUE!!!!

Hey, thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback! More to come later this week.

Great job!! I have 2 issues of GI Combat I bought at a comic book store yrs ago. My favorite as a kid. Gary

Many thanks to all for checking in, it's been a long time between updates. Last night's cold front moved in some cooler weather this AM, so I hit the garage to spray some paint. I had already modified the headlamps in an earlier session, so took the opportunity to get them painted. I hate the look of molded headlights, so I used a drill and my Dremel burr to hollow out the ugly to make way for a new MV lens.

Kit parts 10-11

The lenses are about a buck apiece, but well worth it. Will install them after flat coat goes on. More to come soon, got wash drying.

Good outcome on the lenses Mike . I love those things. (y) (y) (y)

Much easier than making your own :)
