Gamma Goat.

When the gamma goat kit came out everyone wanted one . For a while I could not find one anywhere . A couple of months ago I finally picked one up . Wow it is a nice kit . Tamiya knocked it out with this one.
Well to make a long story short . I know a few people who operated the goat in Europe and it seems to be a love hate relationship with it . So I wanted to show the old goat in its natural environment without being boring and have it coming down some sheer cliff face. So today the mold pieces for the base came out of the molds. Here is a sneek peek, of the barely tamed Gamma goat in its natural environment. There are still a bunch of finishing touches but its getting closer.

Thank you my friend. Im kinda excited to work on this more . Im a little stalled right now . My mind is busy on my next project

I was wondering about the Base ... in the Railroad trade I plan to use the Woodland scenic stuff I think it's called Hydro-cal ... it is supposed to absorb a liquid wash paint ... Does the dental plaster work the same ???

If you using a lot, you can get HydroCal from any good ceramic supply in 50 lbs bags for about $25.

One step up in hardness from Hydrocal is UltraCal. UltraCal doesn't shrink as much as Hydro. They're all USG products, so if you buy them in smaller boxes from Woodland Scenics or anywhere else, you're just paying for repackaging. In terms of hardness, they go from Plaster of Paris, Pottery Plaster, Hydro, Ultra, then Dental. Next stop is Portland Cement which basically a sidewalk. :D

UltraCal and Dental Stone are generally used for molds where low shrinkage and low absorption are necessary. HydroCal and Pottery plaster actual encourage some absorption since their designed use is to wick water away from ceramic slip.

Dental Plaster is also called Die Stone since it is hard enough for tooling.

Thanks ... Nice info ... I've built lots of model Railroads ... lately I'm on the foam board kick ... using a hot knife ....
