FINISHED Magach 6B Gal Batash

So figured I’d start something new. As most know I have a bit of fascination with Middle Eastern/Israeli subjects. Got this at the Columbia SC AMPS show last year. Israel never throws anything away it seems, and this is one of the most up-dated & up-armored versions of the venerable M60. Yes, I know Meng makes a better version, but I got this for less than half the cost of the Meng kit, and that included an aftermarket Resin Barrel and Legend turret basket!

Well here we are at only about 5 hours or so. Went ahead worked thru the drudgery of the wheels, and pretty much finished off the lower hull. This kit is admittedly showing it’s age, but my parts didn’t have too much warping, and no sink marks (so far). This kit has the belly armor and it kit quite well, but I left a few small parts off as the instructions were a bit vague. Overall it’s off to a good start!

Well only got a few hours in today but hafta say she ain’t lookin too bad. Note some parts are just press fit and that las pic shows how much material is going to have to be removed to get the basket to fit

OK so here is my Academy Magach 6B Gal Batash I’ve been working on.

QUESTION: is the non-slip only on the areas shown? Or is it also on the fenders and storage boxes on the hull?

Note I still have a lot to install, including the front glacis armor, but it’s coming along quite well!

Well here she is, ready for paint! The non slip is the AK interactive product, a personal fave. You can also see I had to add some styrene sheet after sanding off the barrel seam. The turret basket is the Legend item for The Meng kit. Took some grinding with a Dremel, but as you can see it fits quite well!

Note I forgot to install the mantlet armor prior to taking pics. The aide armor on this kit has mounting/gluing points that are so small and fragile I had to create pins underneath in order to get the parts to stay

I’m sure the Meng kit is better overall, but the Academy was less half the cost, and it’s not a bad kit for what it is

All she needs now are machine guns, the mantlet armor and paint and she’ll be good to go!

Working on the machine guns. I bought the Legend FN MAG GPMGs…and was disappointed, as they didn’t really represent a higher level of detail. You can see that in the pics. Note I don’t have the belt in the ammo box, but as you can see it turned out quite well

Here you can see the kit’s M2. Here I was disappointed, and decided to use the M2 from Academy’s MG set. I had to make a pin using a paper clip in order to get a good mount. I took the time to deepen the barrel jacket holes and drill out the muzzle. Again it came out nice, leaving me to only need to paint and install, along with the cables and weathering!

OK we need to work on your micro mode photography on that cell phone big guy. Glad you're upgrading those guns.

Question about the M2: shouldn’t there be some kind of remote with a power cord/line or n there somewhere?
