Alot of goodies with this one. Really wanted to see how good there 3d resin printed cockpit was. I have to say it was a real treat to assemble. One of the easiest resin set I've put together. Everything just clicked into place. Highly impressed with the printed resin.

Ah the wildcat memories. that preshade looks great, really nice job Mo! :notworthy
What's the assessory bay look like, did they include the superchargers that hang on the firewall?

I think they did..I'm not 100% what they look like..and my Google fu didn't turn up much. If some one has a pic if the supercharger system then I can say yes or no.

I said supercharger, I meant intercooler.
Shamelessly copying a photo that someone else copied.

That's the intercooler assembly. There's more duct work that goes along the cowl up to some scoops on the inside of the cowl. Trumpeter omitted a lot of this stuff in their offerings in 1:32.

that's the oil reservoir, I got rather intimate with the Wildcat F4F-4 a while back when I got into an open panel hell build with the Trumpy kit, ended up the wrong kit to do it because it was so off.

when I was searching for that image I was glad to see my old build photos pop up on google through FS. I don't think I have those images anymore.

Sorry for the hijack. Great build so far, dig the oversize and over lapping roundels. A detail most will miss. :vgood:

I like em dirty. Did the salt method in the high traffic areas. Highly thinned brown and black was the color choice.

Then worked on the guns....the 3d printed ones are times better the the kit part. Sprayed them black and then brushed some gun metal polishing powder.

Then added some streaks and grime. And with that, this one is done.
