Good stuff Saul, but am I understanding that our regular collared shank drill bits will not fit the multiple locations for drill bits on this thing?

Excellent - thanks Saul, this is really helpful to have. I used mine for a number of things but haven't used all applications and some clarity is always helpful.

Paul stated that the collars can be taken off. I had some, from a set of 50, that didn't have collars as the size was laser engraved on the shanks. Larger sizes have longer bodies (the section with cutting surfaces) so the collar won't need to be removed as @Heavens Eagle pointed out. The lack of a collar allows the shank to be inserted and supported. In the second photo, the shank is supporting the weight of the drill pin vise with no issues.
