I see the dilemma. I didn't notice that the horse hitch pole was so long. My thought was to have it under the overhang on the right of the photo with the tractor seemingly pulled out from the center for a look see. That unbalances the scene as to where to place the kitchen and troops when the tractor bisect the base.

I think just adjusting the front of the tractor closer to the front edge would help eliminate the appearance of hitting the post. Otherwise, I think this is your best positioning ever!
