@ Tom...on the boots I used,both...acrylics and oils...as these boots were made of felt and leather I used these both stuff...usually to recriate leather I apply Burnt Sienna oil color over a dark brown enamel or acrylic paint base followed by Raw Umber and Yellow Ochre in strategical points,i.e,shadows and highlights respectively,using the blending technique always...and for the felt portions I used a coat of acrylic medium brown followed by a washing oil color(Raw Umber)and a very light brown acrylic paint for dry brushing ... okay?...I hope have been useful to you

I thought I had posted here. Really really like the boots and leather. You answered the questions I was going to ask. So yellow ochre lightly stippled into the boot to give it the worn highlight? and then raw umber stippled in for the shadows? Very very cool

Hi all!

...on this update I´ll show how I made the groundwork for my little scene...



...at first,roughned top surface base to promote Celluclay adherences...






...making the foliage...I used a kind of brazilian natural tea for this ...








...holes for the foliage...







...the Celluclay being applied...






...with the Celluclay wet I installed the ground acessories of my little scene...






...covering the Celluclay with Tamiya´s Grit Effect...








...now,a coat of Vallejo #70983 Flat Earth...






...the stones and the foliage were painted on this stage...







...now,making the snow...Tamiyas Grit Effect mixed with Vallejo White...








...washing around the groundwork components...






...a white drybrushing over the whole grounwork...





...and the groundwork is ready...






...and completely done... with a tally plate engraved by myself






...hope you like this sbs...my next update will be last with the soldier installed on the groundwork...till there!

Looking very nice Luiz. I like Celluclay too...it leaves a nice dirt, earth texture.

Moon, I think he stuck the weeds in the holes.

@ MP...Tom is sure...the holes are for the weeds fixation!


@ James...this stuff from Tamiya is very nice...it´s the first time that I used it...it´s a water based paint,very thick,like a paste texture with micro ceramic particles,excelent for recreating rough and gritty surfaces...make a test!
