Folks, just wanted to let you know that we have Group Build ribbons and medals for all the group builds currently underway. Once you complete your entry in the Group Build post them on the completed build summery for recognition and to have the right to wear that group build Ribbon. We'll be updating each group build with the proper BBCode to use on your signature.

Please respect the rules of the Group Builds, only those who actually complete their builds within the confines of the rules of these builds will be allowed to show these ribbons on their signatures.

I'll be posting the codes for each ribbon in due time.

Korea 1950-53 - F-51D 12FBS USAF; ICM 1/48 - DONE!

It's look that i'm a first who finish model in this sub-group :woohoo:

My model presents aircraft flown by Lt. James L. Glessner from 18 th FBG, 12 th FBS. On 02 November Glessner shot down a North Korean Yak-9. 12 FBS come to Korea at the beginning of July 1950 from the Clark AFB (Philippines). First base of 12th FBS in Korea was Teagu. From this base unit was perform operations against North Korean Army during the Battle of Pusan Perimeter. during the six weeks of fight only 12 FBS (having 20 operational planes) performed 1438 flights and destroying (damaged) about 80 (110) tanks, 270 (210) trucks, 230 (220) of other vehicles, 25 (31) of locomotives, 80 (210) of railroad cars, 30 (40) of boat, 50 (40) positions of artillery, 40 compositions of fuels, 70 (60) of magazines and 7 (30) of bridges.

Probably F-51D BuNo 736 Mustang didn't survive the war - it was lost 13 April 1952. Glessner lived the war and continued the career in USAF (in 1969 in the rank of colonel he commanding 524 TFS flying on F-100).

SNARK?SNARKMOUTH?? A SNARKING we will go, Hi Ho Merry oh A SNARKING we will go!!!! Beautiful!!!!

I moved this from my thread on the HELLer Stuka- DONE!

Calling this done- what you see here is an example of shear guts, if Saul hadn't gone to all the trouble of verifying my idea i would never post this here- very disappointed with this kit. BUT, have at it.

I tried to replicate washed off white wash and a very handpainted piece of field applied nose art and a few leaks AND a patch from some kind of weapon damage near the tail- 100% hand painted except for the primer coat.

This Heller kit had great surface detail, but it was cast from very hard brittle styrene. The wing guns are brass rod, the prop, the best feature- is held on by a piece of wire and a swizzle stick cut down and fastened with a drop of solder. It spins and it wont come off. The patch on the tail is cigarette foil cut into strips and the siren props are white metal with brass rod bases.

Yes the cockpit antenna is bent because i broke it twice!
