Colour question

What would be a good colour to mix with yellow for shadows and for highlights. Brown and white?

My first response was "Panzer Grey", then I thought that was silly. :D

Seriously, that would be my thoughts, even add darker or lighter shades of yellow.

Mike is on target! If you have the darker shade- use them. Yellow ochre is a good choice. However, if you're blending your own, browns and white are the perfect choices. Sepia is warmer, burnt umber cooler. So... whatcha paintin'? :idonno

Thanks guys. Chuck I'm painting the tunic of my Persian Imortal. I used Valejo cream yellow and now need to do the shading. I'll have to see if I have sepia. Will have some pics tomorrow. Had intentions of painting some more tonight, but too tired.

Thanks again guys.
James
