Celebrating a great day...

Was a perfect day today weatherwise...got the tractor fuel leak under control, cut up the tree that nearly hit the house and car last week in the middle of the night, and now we sacrifice it...

Right you are, I finished off a horrible week at work and home, everyone healing and all systems are working. Nothing for the fire other than overgrown yard that's gonna get a good trimming today.

Was a great weekend...had beautiful weather, getting near peak fall foliage, and had a great build day.

On a side note, the tracks on this Italeri L6/40 kit are just melting as I build the indy links into runs of 15...going to try to take more care on the other side but hopefully the track guard will cover the worst of this side.

Nice one Mike! we're going up to Flat Rock in a couple of weeks, not sure we'll see much color. I don't think we'll be peaking anytime soon.

Seems a worthwhile sacrifice to me...

Some AI magic to fix the potholes and turn the image into a Vermont Bureau of Tourism photo...

As is so often the case for me, a book or photo inspires my next big project. This book from A Collection OÜ (Igor Donchik Art) on Chernobyl was fascinating to me...especially since I was nearly a junior in high school when it happened and not so interested in current events at the time. My review of the book is below...but the story of one of the men who worked the site and survived gave me an idea for a build that goes with the next AMPS Nationals theme of recovery vehicles. Looking forward to clearing a couple troublesome projects off the bench so I can start this.

One of the younger ladies at church is an artist and was permitted to sketch and photograph the city, several years ago. Put me in mind of dystopian novels I read as a kid.

The thing that got me was that they ran the other power plants around it for quite a number of years. They have the new cover over it now and they are having all kinds of other issues. It seems that the Elephant foot and other heavy radio active meltdown parts are turning to powder, flaking off and creating dust and other things are going on. I have read some articles on it over the last couple of years, but don't remember exactly what they said is going on.
