Car Builders ... Lookin for After Market Parts

Hey Guys,

I'm gonna get in th Hot Rod B.G. & I want to do Tamiya's Karman Ghia or Tamiya's Bug ... & Give it some Flash & Balls !! Does any one make after market parts for VW Bugs or Th Ghia ( both are 1/24th scale) ? I was hoping for a set of the Porsche Cookie Cutter Wheels , or the Old School Empi 5 or 8 Spoke Wheels , any kind of Dress up stuff for th Engine etc .. Recaro Seats ??

AS you can see here - Th Ghia has th VW Bud headlight in it ( which I wanna do on th Tamiya Ghia) Check those Chrome Wheels - I think these a Porsche 914 wheels ?

A Ghia with a Porsche Engine it it, any one make those ?

Now I could just do this - It's th Stock 1600cc Motor Blown out to 1776cc with Dual Kadron Carbs. I figured this might be an easy scratch build.

Hmmmmm. Seems like No one does th German VW stuff .... which is a lil disappointing as They turn out some Bad Azz Hot Rods !!

Hey Erik!

Tamiya made several Porsche kits in the 90's that would have your engine in the same scale as the Bug. The Tamiya'66 Bug is a great little kit and should still readily available, the Ghia may be harder to come by. Thanx for th links. .... It's not the Model that I'm having trouble finding .. It's th A.M. parts like th 5 spoke or 8 spoke wheels , but I'd really love to find the combination of the late 70's Porsche Cookie Cutter wheels & a set of Pirelli Tires !! - That was th Standard back in th day . If you had a Set of those Cookie Cutter Wheels , Pirelli Tires & Porsche Disc Brakes up front on Either a Ghia or Bug ... You Were A Bad Mamma Jamma ! Of course along with either a 1776cc duel Kadron Carb car or th 914 engine slammed into th Car ! and Add Recaro Seats with a 4 point harness - You were Big Time Bro !!

Yeah ... I forgot about Fujimi .... I built Their VW Bug a loooong time ago - I made it a So-Cal Bug ,

I forgot they did Wheels sets ..... I'll have to look through Their inventory .. They gotta do a Set for th Porsche 911 Targa - Cookie Cutter Wheels & a set of Pirelli's !

Heheh...hope so, I have a Fugimi Porsche that I bought at a show for $5, but missing the wheels.
All this talk of model cars is making me want to build it.
