Bucharest - Little Paris

White_Wolf

Master at Arms
Inbetween the world wars, Bucharest was known as "The Little Paris" because of the traditional ties with France had inspired many aspects of life back then. These pictures show some of the famous buildings in Bucharest, some are still standing, some are not. Some are old photos, some are more recent ones. This is just me trying to show the fine people on this forum a side of my country that is rarely seen - unfortunately. Despite all the hardship and poverty and all the not-so-good things that always make the news, Bucharest is still home to some pretty good looking buildings, or at least I seem to believe so. Up to you ladies and gentlemen to judge what you see.

Ooooh nice architecture.

Its a crying shame so many beautiful buildings around the world had to be replaced with concrete blocks.
